For those demonstrators in EDSA
You deserve your poverty.

Erap and son, Jinggoy, got arrested today and were brought to Camp Crame. Their supporters are holding a vigil outside the camp and in the EDSA Shrine. With Billions of Pesos to spare, can they have another uprising again? Hmmm.

I'm feeling a little bit tipsy as I finished 6 cans of San Mig Light. We had cocktails kasi right after the G.A. to celebrate milestones. Now I got myself a steaming mug of coffee to keep me from throwing up. Will this help? I guess I'll find out soon.

The people's morale is surely up after the G.A. And what we're waiting for is their actions on what was discussed. If nothing pushes through, expect another rash of resignations to follow. And from what I know, it's going to be bigger and would put a lot of toll in the company.

Wait. Gotta sip some coffee.

Game.

Romy's ready and I don't know if I can handle the team as he did. It has come. I have turned out to be his replacement. And, as what I said before, anyone would pale in comparison to this person. I sure hope the team cooperates and understands this dilemma. I sure hope there's an additional compensation for the additional work and responsibility that Yoj and I are getting.

We just had our GA today, and In my opinion, I think they were fair. But it's not all over yet. People will be waiting for what will happen next. The talk is all over. Now it's time to see some action.

Hmmm.

How could you possibly work if...

1. Your immediate boss is leaving you and your teammates with his responsibilities which will be added to yours?
2. He's pirating two of the technical / back-end people which you will be working for your future project?

It's the 7th of April 2001. It's a Saturday. And I'm in the office. Moby couldn't make it for the chat tonight, so he asked me if I could sub for him. And so I did. The chat was scheduled at 7:00 p.m. and it's now 10:04 p.m. Still no sign of the guest. Are they stil coming? They might. I'll try and stay here for an hour more and wait for them. If they still don't show up, then I'll call it a night.

I guess it would be great for my blogger. Me sitting on my workstation with nothing left to do but wait. I believe that's a perfect setting for a good blog entry. And so the mood is ready. And so here goes. I hope I won't fuck this up.

Now I'm conscious. What if I fuck this up? Shit.

For myself.

A lot of things have happened this month. And I'm sure it won't stop there. Twenty one is the current count. Their count. You see it's actually twenty seven, at least. Well, that's if you include the coming months. That's a lot of people, by any HR's standards. If it's one or two, I guess that is fine. But if it's twenty one, there must be something really wrong. What really interests me is some of them actually have no plans on what they're going to do. They just want to get things over before they start planning -- extremely drastic steps considering the conditions we have right now. They are willing to risk it and compete with the fresh grads and the rising rate of unemployment in this country.

Why?

It all boils down to the value of the individual. Seeing the person as a person -- a unique being -- with his own dreams and goals and needs and wants.

If twenty one people walks out the door, doesn't that reflect how we value them? These are the same people who we have lunches with, who sticks with us doing our overnighters, who logs in on the internet in the own homes to check for possible bugs, who also work their butts off updating their sites and doing their share to reach that goal. If it was all money, these people would've gone somewhere else. But they saw something. And I guess each one of us saw something too.

I guess I am not making sense. I just want to blog it all out.

No, this is not the right time. An employees union would destroy the company and would, in turn, destroy the union as well. It wouldn't be beneficial to both parties.

The cows in the barn are restless.
Expect to be surprised really soon with number twenty two.

We went to the City Hall to get our Community Tax Certificate. Got there in the nick of time. It was 30 minutes before 5:00 p.m. and lines were short. I paid a total of P162.00. Cool! It all boils up like this: your basic community tax is P5.00 plus P145.00 based from my Gross Taxable Income and P12.00 Interest. Please do not let me explain what the interest is all about. I'm just happy that the sedula escapade is over.

Happy Birthday, Rachel!
(Wherever you are)
I heard that you're now in Ibaan
Married with children
I wonder what might've happened
If I wasn't such an asshole.

Introducing Survivor 3 - this time we're not taking you to a deserted island, to the outback, to a desert, nor to a jungle. We're taking you to the most demanding challenge of all - surviving a dot-com company in the third world. Our contestants are overworked, underpaid employees (with stock options, of course) assigned with targets virtually impossible to reach (Impossible? I don't think so -- yeah right).

In our last episode, we had a string of resignations. That is right, resignations. Because in Survivor 3, rarely does a contestant get voted out -- they vote themselves out! And with the impending merge of the two tribes from the fourth and the sixth, who knows what will happen next?

Find out in the coming episodes of Survivor 3
Outwit. Outplay. Outlast.

Just got my payslip today.
Thought I got the full 15% raise.
I guess I have to think again.
Can they take out the raise?
I'm getting a significantly lower amount than what I used to get.

A quote from a friend...
"Binigyan naman kita ng trabaho. Wala namang usapang may sweldo"

Is it coming? The E.L.E. - Extinction Level Event?

4:43 PM

A lot of people are leaving or have already left the company.
It's quite interesting to note that some of them would leave without a definite place to go rather than stay.
I wonder if they talk about it.

On another perspective, it must be really hard for them working on a tight budget. One by one, your key people are filing their resignation letters, and you have nothing to offer them. Your targets are set at a high level by your god, the morale of your crew is down, and all you've got is an insanely low budget. I guess all you can do is bid them farewell and hope that they'll be happy wherever they end up working. As for you, you cross your fingers and hope for the best.
