You don't have to force anyone in our office to go on forced leave. hehehehe.

I spent my whole holiday vacation manning the TXT 2366 channel and discovering the joys of Neopets.

Here's a tip: don't stay too late in the office at 9501. First, the aircon will kill you. Second, there are spirits.

One afternoon, Punky saw a man in a brown jacket sitting in Paolo's place and he was looking outside the window. She thought it was him. Later she found out that Paolo didn't even go to the office that day.

On one of his overtime assignments, Rusnell heard someone singing a kundiman in the office. But there was no one there but him.

And Indah's talking with the Bantay Bata donation box and the Christmas tree!

Hmmmm. Maybe we should invite those spirit questors for another chat?

I have to prepare in a short while. We're hearing mass at the Ateneo. But I have to do this blogger before I forget all the stuff that happened last night.

We had some quotable quotes...
Myles: Why? What's wrong with a kiss between friends?
Morny: One thing could lead to another and there could be children between friends!

Got drunk again last night. I mixed lots of Mule, tequila shots, a glass of Mudslinger, and several glasses of red wine. My tummy suffered for it. Stayed at Joyce's place till 12 noon!

Tomorrow's the barkada's Christmas party at Joyce's place. I shopped at the Shang this afternoon with Dan and got gifts for the people, except for Myles. Maybe I'll run to Rockwell tomorrow morning and get her something sossy.

It's my father's birthday today and we had dinner at Shangri-La at West Avenue. My brother brought his girlfriend. My sister brought her boyfriend. I didn't bring a partner because pets aren't allowed. Bummer.

I think I'm starting to like Thunder girl.

Part of our privilege of level 2 is time flexibility. Unable to file OT, what we do is try to offset the time by coming in late. Because regardless of what time I come in to the office, I'll always go home after 12 midnight.

I'm really thankful now that we assigned moderators to do the job. Maybe now I can get my life back. Thank you.

Overheard from my boss after her ManCom, according to her secretary:
"If they don't come in early, I will fire them."

Well gee, excuse me for being late, madame. Maybe if you don't have a television channel that airs till 12 midnight, you'll probably have people coming in on the "prescribed" office time. Maybe if you have more manpower helping these people do the task, then maybe they'd be less overworked. Then maybe they'll be in your glorious office. Gosh.

7:23 PM

Finally it has come. I have lived a quarter of a century. It seems pretty odd that kids my age get married and have kids, when I can't even imagine moving out of my house. Maturity kicks in at 25. So where is it? Yoohoo!

In the End
The Linkin Park boyband and barbershop
Dedicated to the heroes

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

Sunday

Blogger was down then so I saved this for today.

On the second day of my shopping extravaganza series, I took the team on a wild mall-hopping spree. We took the MRT to the great shopping mecca of Makati in the hunt for those Merrel shoes. Where would you if you're looking for shoes? Logic would tell you that there's no place like Shoemart!

Shopping in Shoemart Makati took me back to memory lane. Back then when I was a child, we'll travel to Makati from Batangas City and do our Christmas shopping here. After almost 25 years, the department store still looks the same. Makes it seem more eerie when I heard a family of Batangueños talking with their unmistakable accent.

We elbowed our way up the escalator to the second flood where the shoes are. I managed to pin down my choice to two pairs, and it was so hard to decide so I got them both.

After paying for them, we went straight to Glorietta only to find out it was overflowing with people. We walked around a bit. When we realized that it's hopeless to shop with a mob, we had a make a decision. We went back to the MRT station and went to shopping's final frontier - The Shang.

Let's stop here for a minute. Now I know you might be saying that it's not the final frontier with Rockwell and Alabang, but put in thought that we're only using the train. So to appease your souls, let's just call it the not-so-final frontier.

The Shang was refreshing compared to Makati. There were less jologs here. You can shop with minimal hassle. Yeah, there were a lot of people there, but the number is significantly lower than Makati. It was so convenient that I got myself three pairs of jeans right away!

When it's over, we took the train back Quezon Avenue. We had to take turns moderating.

And morning came, and evening came, and so ends the second day.

I guess it would really be stupid to hope for a bonus of some sort. I mean like, hey, it would really be so fucked up if they fired a lot of employees so that they could give us our bonuses, right?

Here's a thought. If they managed to take out like 20 people from the company because the system is not working right, what would stop them from firing 20 more people if the system is still fucked up? Oh, and by the way, the term is not fired but retreched. There's a difference. The euphemism makes it sound nice. Makes us all seem humane.

Here's another thought. I am willing to give up my rice subsidy, and maybe we can get more than a handful of people to give-up their rice subsidies as well. Would we be able to save a soul from getting retreched with this little sacrifice? I better stop it. This is turning out to be another Schindler's List.

10:19 PM

I can't believe it. I actually went to Megamall today and shopped. I shopped! Hurrah! Hip hip hurray! I am still human.

I got myself a couple of long-sleeved shirts from Marks & Spencer and four shirts from Collezione. I was supposed to get a pair of shoes from Merrel, but they don't have my size. Bummer. But it doesn't matter. I still have tomorrow. I'll just take the train to Glorietta and get myself those shoes. And who knows, I might watch a movie, too!

Maybe this is just my coping mechanism acting up. I dunno.

Bantayog
Halaw sa Rock Operang 2Bayani

Ngayo'y hinihingi nila

Friday Bloody Friday

I actually have no clue how to start this blog. The game isn't Survivor anymore. We're now playing The Weakest Link.

Yesterday was quite sureal. We were called for an emergency meeting at 9:00 a.m. That's odd, we thought. We never had a meeting that early even when we launched the channel. But somehow I knew right then what was it all about. There were rumors about it. Beware the judgment day, they said.

There were nine people voted off from the company. They say the damage in News if far greater. To these people, thank you for giving me the pleasure of working with you. As I always say -- see you on the other side.

Mad Season

It's Monday and it's back to the salt mines again for most of us.

It's December 10 and I haven't even started shopping for gifts to my friends and inaanaks. I went to the mall yesterday hoping to start my Christmas extravaganza with a new pair of rubber shoes, but there were no more sizes for me.

Rockwell was pretty tame. Glorietta is a war zone. I never even attempted to drop by Megamall.

So that's how it feels like to be wasted. Cool!

I reached my objective. I am victorious. I have intoxicated the boss. But not without any casualties. In reaching the objective, I have to be drunk, too. And so I was. We mixed drinks that we didn't know which is which. We had tequila, vodka, gin, Fundador, San Mig Light and iced tea spiked with Tanduay.

I had to sleep in Victoria. I was conscious enough to know that I cannot drive.

Oh, and I puked thrice.

My congratulations to a few people.
1. For Mark and Petite who are getting married soon
2. For Mira - ditto. Tama ba ang narinig ko kay CLK?
3. For the man, Jundador, for being the first person to puke in 9501's carpet.

An extremely intoxicated Carlo revealed this to us. Join me as I congratulate Mark and Petite. Break a leg, guys! I'm looking forward to the stag party already. hehehehe.

THE WEAKEST LINK

Edu: Out of a possible P500,000 per month target, you only reached a pathetic 17%. This is not good. Someone is not doing his part of the bargain. So now it's time to vote whom you think is the weakest link!

The team writes their votes.

Edu: Time is up. Let us reveal your votes.

Member 1: Albino
Member 2: Albino
Member 3: Albino
Member 4: Albino
Member 5: Albino
Albino: Member 1.

Edu: Aba!

It doesn't end there, Edu.

Member 2: Oo nga naman! Noong isang araw nga eh nagblue screen bigla on-air.

Edu: Ganon ba? Member 5, bakit si Albino?

Member 5: I agree with our other team members.

Edu: I guess that's it. Albino, with 5 votes against you, you are the weakest link.

Albino leaves the stage

Finally we can reveal ourselves to the Jedi.

The project is up, and there's no turning back now. It's do or die. I'm talking, of course, of our channel in SkyCable. We need that bonus! It's crunch time. And you know what Ateneans chant when it's crunch time -- GET THAT BONUS! hehehehe.

My thanks to the team for their generosity. That goes for Joko the Mongo, Gerry, TXTJock Shirley and TXTJock Maya. There goes our 3-day vacation. Hope you guys can file for overtime 'coz I sure can't.

No thanks to the albino. Do us a favor and quit bringing the news culture to our office. And the next time you get assigned to a project, make sure you've got the balls to stick with your team come hell or high water. No wonder you're such a loser ... er ... loner ... Asshole.

On another note, we're now in 9501 (although part of the team, including myself, is still in Victoria I). I wish the old guys were there to see where we are now. It's been a long journey. From a cramped space in the IT Department to the homey (but still cramped) Bohol Mansions to the condemned Victoria I, and finally the last stop -- the ELJ Communications Center.
