Now I know why she chose Ish as her TJ name. It's short for childish. As much as I would like to connect with her, our wavelength is way too different. I was trying to talk serious, but I guess she cannot handle it. Oh well Life is life. She has three days to go and it's bye-bye time. I'll probably get another OJT for this coming semester.

Congratulations to April in choosing UP instead of La Salle for her graduate studies.

My family is back from Boracay and all I got was a lousy shirt.

One Million
Today we reached our one million text messages for the month of May and it's not over yet. I've wanted to share the news and congratulate the team, but they're not here. Joko had to rush his kid to the hospital this morning and had to stay there, Dan is on leave studying film in U.P., and Moby has an upset stomach. Gerry left early to go to a friend's wake. So I guess it's just me here. Congratulations to us.

Happy birthday to Audz.

Olive's in Iligan for her first writer's workshop. As part of her M.A. requirements, she submitted five of her poems to a writer's workshop, and luckily she was accepted as a fellow. You can read some of her works at her site - poet + try. She told us that she's actually thinking of not going, but I can see that she's really excited with it. She had this list of things to do, and going to the beauty parlor was one of them. It's great to see her back on her feet again.

We found it really weird watching Death to Smoochie with kids in the theater. Sorry to say this, but I think quite a number of these noveau rich parents, who bring their kids to Rockwell's Power Plant Mall to watch a film that is anything but a kid's movie, are stupid. Is there something wrong with their freakin' minds that they gobble any movie with a purple-colored animal in it? I guess these are the same people who think Jesus Christ Superstar is a good show for the Holy Week.

I did nothing today. I just bummed around the house, watched TV and surfed the net. The househelp went for a date with her boyfriend so I ordered pizza and shared it with my dog, Zagu. We raided the fridge for some oatmeal cookie dough ice cream and had a blast watching the Monaco Grand Prix.

My family won't be coming in until tomorrow from their Boracay spree. I'm seriously toying with the idea of getting an escort for the night, but then I've got no cash and I seriously doubt if I can swipe my credit card in her... never mind. (I wouldn't know what I'd do if the transaction gets denied.)

I think something is happening to me and my hunch is it's caused by the radioactive waves emitted by the computer monitor. Bwahahahaha!

I almost beat the time, but then I lost balance and fell -- twice. The first one was at the tight turn from the main hallway to MCG's place, and the second one was at the tight technical section near the HR's office.

I've never been a big fan of Monday. If I were president, I would've declared Monday as a regular holiday, too. I think more and more people would go to work with a smile if they had a three-day weekend instead of two. People would no longer dread Monday. And maybe the phrase "Thank God It's Monday" wouldn't sound so ironic. That would be so cool. Just think about it.

Then again people would hate Tuesdays. (And the Carpinters would have to change their song to "Rainy Days and Tuesdays".)

The Return of the Jedi
Fresh from his brief stint at Microsoft, rumor has it that Yoda's coming back to the office and word is he'll be reporting by this week.

Talking about making comebacks, get ready for this - AdCritic.com might be relaunched soon. It was acquired by the AdAge group. For more details, visit their site

It's OK to dream, but remember to keep your feet planted on the ground. Just when I thought everything's going my way, my lovey doves OJT brought along her boyfriend to the eyeball party last night. Welcome back to earth, Jovan.

The newly-ordained director wasn't in last night's event and everyone in the crew think that sucks. The managing director was there; why can't he? I'm glad he trusts us and all, but it is still his event. His presence is enough support itself. As I've said before, a text message cannot replace a handshake or a pat in the back. This a lesson he needs to learn in dealing with people.

The eyeball's over. Glad we have that now behind our backs. The fucking people at Hard Rock Cafe in Makati needs a new general manager if they want that restaurant to survive. After a number of pre-production meetings, where we settled all the requirements and layed out all our cards, he showed up last night and changed the whole damn agreement we did with his managers! What's the point of hiring these managers, more so letting them discuss with us on doing an event, if their general manager himself wouldn't honor their decision? Are these just glorified waiters and G.R.O.'s all in one? I pity them.

I'll be meeting the company god on Monday at the 15th floor. He wants to chat, too. My bossing warned me in advance not to wear my Birkenstocks.

Got this picture from the e-mail and I am wondering what would it be like if they're still in the company.

My lovey doves just texted me this morning and told me that she's not coming in today. Meron daw siya. Now I'm still here at home and it's way past 10:00 a.m. I figured there's no point in going to the office anymore.

Just kidding. We just have family lunch today.

This is the MCG's last day in the office before he takes his terminal leave. We're gonna miss him. Hope he does well in his new job. On the same note, it's just one more day before the great pamana - I'm taking his Altec-Lansing speakers.

As much as i want to, I won't be going to Batangas this coming weekend. We have an eyeball party at the Hard Rock Cafe this Saturday night and I doubt if I have the energy to drive all the way to Batangas after the party and race on Sunday morning. It's just plain crazy. I'm now thinking of doing support work for the PCN guys going to Tagaytay on Sunday.

Congratulations to my immediate boss. From a manager, he is now a director. There are also a number of people who got promoted -- three people got promoted from rank and file to supervisory, and one person got promoted from supervisory to managerial.

Caffe Espresso Too. Because jologs people need to be sossy sometimes.

I had to stop myself from watching Star Wars Episode II last night. The Jundador has a pirated VCD copy of the movie and I watched almost the first half of it. What made me stop were the cheesy love scenes between Anakin and Padme. Star Wars fans, be warned. Darth Vader's acting leaves much to be desired. Just watching parts of it made me look back at the credits to see if Joel Schumaccher was part of the directorial staff (remember Batman and Robin?).

For the first time, the bossing had dinner with us at the cafeteria. I guess the boys got shocked, too. No one was expecting to see him line-up for rice and sinigang, more so bringing his tray to the washing area. Somehow, it made him more approachable. More tangible. More human. On the same note, I think you don't need an Internal Communications Program if the big bossing would just casually go and sit down with his employees.

I'm still thinking of doing a half-day today so I could watch Star Wars, but then it's not worth it anyway.

Zagu is a chick magnet. I walked him this afternoon in the Ateneo. I guess I should walk him more often. On the downside, there is now doggie drool all over Chai's leather seats.

Guys, don't forget to wear white tomorrow. Girls, wear black. There are no protests. There are no picket lines. There are no new rules on company uniform. It's just a trip thing.

Is it just me pero parang naghihinayang ako sa weekend na ito. I should've done something more productive. I'm just too lazy, I guess.

I paid P4000 to the credit card company. With less than a thousand pesos in the ATM, I am now officially poor.

The Eyeball is this coming Saturday. With no sponsorship money and a not-so-organized events person, I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed. Night shift, anyone?

The gold lens for my Trenchcoats are here, but Benjie doesn't accept Citibank cards temporarily. I told her I'll probably get it next week.

The summer outing with the E-Girls didn't push through this weekend. Maybe next weekend then? Or the next?

The Climb II

It started steep. But this time I know my limits. I am no longer thinking of the Alps, the peloton or the maillot jaune. There was no attempt to chase the front pack. When I was tired, I stopped, rested, and drank ice-cold water from my hydration pack.

Today it was me climbing, the whole 220 pounds.

Then again, maybe not.

Pero siyempre you can't please them all.

Isang komentaryo sa aming G.A. kahapon -- "There is no perfect company". I agree. Yes, there is no such thing as a perfect company, but I find no fault in striving to be one. I'm not saying na itinigil na namin ito, the striving part. Sana lang idinugtong ito.

May bagong targets na naman. Mukhang inuman na naman ang katapat nito.

I'm getting a little bit concerned with Evil O. Every time I login to her blogs, it's turning more and more into a doctor's prescription journal. I really hope she holds on and learns to take things easy.

I found out that one of my TXTjocks has a webpage. It's a little bit rough, but I have to give the guy some credit on experimenting on Flash.

I'm taking Chai to the Casa tomorrow morning for her 45,000-kilometer preventive maintenance check-up, tune-up and annual vehicle registration. I'm expecting to have my credit card maxed out after that.

They assigned me now as a full producer of the channel. Hmmm. I'm wondering. Isn't that what I was doing in the first place? So how does a full producer differ from a regular one? And does that mean that if I'm a full producer that my peers are just partial producers? Are we making things up as we go along the way? Along with this, I have to swallow another news - I'm not getting any raise. Now I know this doesn't sound right but I will have to say it anyway. For the same job, I think I'm getting less than what my counterparts are getting. There is some correction needed at this point.

As predicted, we are now a company run by OJT's. Word is that we're getting OJT's from La Salle for Telco Relations, Wireless Development and Sales. I hope they get those cute ones to shed some light to my dying lovelife.

This is a blue paper shopping bag from the Onyx Fashion Store. It may seem worthless to you but it brings with it all my good intentions.

My lovey doves is back from Italy. She texted me last night and told me she's back. Could there be something here? I mean if I'm back from another country, I wouldn't even be texting my friends until the following when I had a good rest. But she sent me a message at 9:00 in the evening right before she hit the sack.

Maybe I'm just reading into things that doesn't really have meaning. But I'm happy. Because my Italiana is back.

Maybe I should freeze the chocolate pasalubong she gave me para it could last forever. O ha! Talk about taking cheese to another level!

How's the new look?

So how's the new look? I've been experimenting with HTML for quite some time now. MCG told me to play with my blog. And so I did.

Sad day today. I stayed at home waiting for my OJT to arrive from Italy. Sabi nila she'll be coming on the 11th, so that's a few days to go!

I arrived at 3:00 a.m. from last night's spider-man and countryside gimmick and slept til 1:00 p.m. It was fun bumming around the house. I doodled my my google design. I took some skins from BlogSkins. Do you like it? I also cleaned Chai, my car. I washed her, gave her some armor-all and did some rubbing.

I'm actually amazed with the activity level of the e-group I started. Right now, we have 105 members and it's growing each day. If you're a cyclist, join the Philippine Cycling Network. It's not formal and it's free.

I think I should take a shower now. I can smell my armpits already. Phew!

Lonely. I'm Mr. Lonely
My lovey doves OJT flew to Italy yesterday with her parents for a business trip. No, it's not us. Yet. But I do hope that it'll turn out to be us. You see, my OJT is my lovey doves. Problem is she doesn't know that she's my lovey doves. But that can be arranged, these minor details. All it takes is a lot of heart, a razor and some shaving cream. As Wayne said, "Oh yes, she will be mine."

I tried to runaway from my sadness. And so I asked two of my officemates to join me in my suffering as we climbed Antipolo today on our bikes. The tall one bonked out on the first climb and we were forced to leave him behind. I tried to do the Lance Armstrong cadence tempo. It was working out well until I saw the display on my cyclometer - 10 kilometers per hour. And since my heart was beginning to show signs of failing anyway, I decided to stop with just 20 meters to go before reaching the top. It was pretty hot today and our plans of having our bikes blessed at the Antipolo church and celebrating the occassion with suman and kasoy ended up with two bottles of Gatorade and a new brake cable at Joven's bike shop in Marikina.

On the way home, I tried to do the Lance Dance again going up to Katipunan and was pretty successful. I left the two and created a huge gap in an instant. I was strong. I was thinking about Mont Ventoux. Marco Pantani. The Alps. I thought this time I have the Maillot Jaune - the coveted yellow jersey. Then a cyclist on a road bike (a carpintero, perhaps) came from nowhere and overtook me.
