Pimping my dog

Look at that pink thing sticking out and you'll know he's not female!

Zagu is a two-year old, 85-pound German Sheperd and he needs a mate badly. If you have a female German Sheperd, please do get in touch. And please hurry because he's humping all the pillows in the house and they might get pregnant!

"Pero cutie pie... sa bar... you know, merong konting biruan, bolahan,murahan...you know..." alumpihit na sabi ni Gino.

Hindi na nakapagpigil si Karen, "Gusto mo ng murahan sweetheart? TANG-INA MO PALA EH! HETO, INUMIN MO ITONG PUTANG INANG BEER MO SA MALAMIG SA BWAKANANG INANG BASO NA 'TO, AT KAININ MO 'YANG PUKI NANG INANG PULUTAN NA 'YAN DAHIL HINDI KA LALABAS NG BAHAY! ULOL!" 'TANG INANG'TO!

Monday: the nth entry
It's Monday again. I was seriously thinking of taking the day off because I slept really late, but I have lots of stuff to do so I have to go to work. I miss those days in college when I would just cut class whenever I feel like it. Now if you don't do the work today, you'll do double the work tomorrow. It won't disappear into thin air. Rather, it would mutate into something bigger and harder to handle. Your only break is the weekend and the occassional national holidays. And sometimes, if you're lucky enough, the President might just move it to help boost local tourism (and save your sanity).

Wazzzup
It's 8:28 in the morning. While waiting for my water to boil so I could take a tabo bath, pick up Cha and drive to the office, here's the latest update for you:

1. Spent the Holy Week in Loyola Heights. We attended the Easter Triduum Mass at the Church of the Gesu with Cha and her parents. That was Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Black Saturday! Next time I'll bring a fan so I could return the favor. Pinaypayan kasi ako ng Mom niya. O ha!

2. I have a new OJT. I assigned him to collect trivia questions for the games in the channel. 75 questions for every eight hours sounds very reasonable. I hope he won't turn into OJT number five.

3. I've updated my links and added two new ones: TJ Thursday's Random Collisions and Joseph's 5 Tops. Check them out!

I'd like to write some more but I have to go to the office. Maybe I can do more updates later.

Deviance
It's funny how social norms affect us. In the society we live in, we have an unspoken rule on what is and what is not accepted. We determine these things. We are the ones who set these standards.

Those who follow these rules are what we call the normal people. On the other hand, those who do not are what we call abnormal or social deviants. It is we who label them based from the social standard of behavior we set.

I remember this lesson very well. Ricky has rehearsed quite well for this class. He was full of passion as he delivered his powerful lines and catchy phrases in our SA21 class back in college.

In a gimmick last Saturday, I was amazed with how I reacted to a simple act of deviance by the people at the table next to us. Normally, I'd just shrug it all off and mind my own business. But I guess it was because I was in a social dance with her friends and was in a lookout for a good topic of conversation (and, probably, bonding).

As I was listening to the discussion, I can't help but notice the people in the next table. A nice couple (with their yaya?) ordered red wine and poured it in their wine glasses. What really made me stop was when the waiter brought them ice and they placed it in their glasses.

At that moment I was wondering if it was me who was drinking it the wrong way, that maybe it's supposed to be served on the rocks.

It didn't stop there. The couple asked for a straw! They were drinking their iced red wine with a straw! An order of sisig would've been the clincher!

If you're going to think about it, there's really nothing wrong with the picture. The couple is really just having some fun on a Saturday night. Deviance is a social construct.

Novelino on the rocks, anyone?

It's a lazy day in the office. Everyone's already in their vacation modes.

I actually have no idea what to write. I just felt like updating my blog. I don't want it to end with just the schedule of the Holy Week Triduum Mass. That's all.

Fiesta is doing her countdown. In a few days she'll be leaving the company and pursue her lifelong dream of teaching kids. Good for her. She's not afraid to try things out. At least when she's in her 70's, she wouldn't be wondering what would've happened if she pursued teaching rather than a research analyst.

Honestly, I hate to see her go. Real people are hard to find these days. In a desperate effort to make her stay, I even offered to make her a sandwich everyday if she promised to stay. I guess the sandwiches weren't that exceptional.

I wish her luck. Working in the academe for two years, I know for a fact that salaries of teachers are quite small compared to what people get from the corporate world.

I'm sorry, but I have to leave this entry hanging. I don't know how to end it.

Have a happy Holy Week everyone!

And the answer is No.

Domesticated
The last P200 went to Chai's gasoline. When I left the house this morning I was toying with the idea of driving her to the office and back without getting fuel, but the yellow warning light flashed as we left La Vista and I can't risk getting stranded with no money to pay for a tow.

Today is day two of me being "domesticated". I actually have no choice. The maids are on leave and I'm out of funds. I woke up at seven o' clock to prepare my lunch.

Yesterday was my first time to cook rice. I know how to prepare it in theory. I know how to measure the water using my hand. I saw the maids do it. I also remember how I helped out in the cooking during our Boy Scout camping in grade school. But yesterday was my first time to cook it by myself, and it was self-gratifying. When I took out the lid and the smoke cleared, the sight of freshly-cooked rice was magical.

The tapa was a no-brainer. You get a pan, put some oil, heat it up a bit, and fry the meat. Unlike the rice, there's a little amount of chamba here.

Now I know this isn't a big deal for most of you. Add to that the fact that I used a rice cooker. But look at it this way - at least I will be an asset if I join Survivor.

A Changed Man (?)
Haven't been blogging for some time now. I was actually planning to have an entry about a day in the life of an FC (Feeling Close), but I didn't get to finish it, which is good because it's actually quite evil leaning more on panlalait rather than fun. Maybe I'll get to write about that next time. I still have the file in one of my folders.

Also on that, I'm thinking of devoting a section here for the great adventures of my favorite AE. I'll probably think about that, too.

Just launched a new game on the channel today and it's doing really well. With the rate things are going I think we can reach our targets by the third quarter.

If you are still in the dark, let me brighten up things for you: Sa wakas dumating na rin ang pangakong taglay ng 2003. So for those of you who are still waiting for the one, be patient. It will happen to you, too.

This entry is soooo Doogie Howser.
