Day Tour
The Amazing Race gives us a good definition on what a day tour is. According to them "a day tour is a choice between two tasks, each with its pros and cons."

Tired from work, Charo and I took advantage of the three-day weekend and went out of town to recharge and spend a quiet day with each other.

We booked a day tour at the Laiya Coco Grove in San Juan, Batangas. It's a good 3-hour drive from Manila and is the same place where we had our company summer getaway this year.

There were only a few people in the resort so it was almost like having the place to ourselves. And we didn't even have to worry about the food because it's included in our package along with my favorite treehouse. What's funny is we didn't even swim at the beach because the beach floor felt much like clay. But we're not beach people, so we spent a couple of hours in the pool instead.

It was a great weekend escapade that we're both looking forward to our next adventure.

Celebration of life
(My apologies to REM for borrowing the title of their song.)

All hail to the chief for he is now a daddy. Yes, our company's head honcho is now a proud father, and I welcome him to the land of more eyebags and office clothes with drool. Wait a minute. I usually have those, too!

Also on the subject of life, our deeepest condolences to our good friend, Bunny. Her dad passed away. It's a sad occassion, losing one's parent, but at least she managed to let him know how much she loves him.

I am now a Tantra Online addict. I've been playing the game at home despite the slow dial-up connection and my pc's limited capacity of only 128MB's of RAM. If you haven't tried it yet or haven't got a clue what I'm talking about, login to http://www.tantra.com.ph now!

Have you guys seen National Treasure? If you're a fan of the Indiana Jones-type of movies, then you'll probably get a kick out of this one. We watched it last night in Eastwood.

Talking about Eastwood, please do not eat at the Max's restaurant in Eastwood City, Libis. Their service is so lousy, it sucks big time.

I ordered a glass of bottomless iced tea while Charo got the single order. When I asked for a refill, they said that it's not possible because my glass isn't the right one for refills. Apparently, they served us the wrong glasses of iced tea and I ended up with the one for single orders. Now get this - the manager (I assume he's the manager since he's the one wearing the blue shirt and tie), instead of doing damage control and adjusting to the situation by instructing his waiters to give me my refill instead of Charo, told us that it's obvious which glass was for the refills.

Well, if it was that obvious, then there would've been a word "refill" or something printed on the glass, don't you think? The size difference, which the supposed manager tried to point out as the obvious marker as to which is which, isn't that distinct and anyone could've made the same mistake. How would a customer know the internal details of the restaurant's system when all that matters to him primarily is that he's served with what he ordered within a reasonable amount of time?

If there's anyone here reading this who knows the owner of that Max's branch, or better yet the Max's franchise management, please send this to them.

You want it? You got it! Longanisa!
Small but terrible. The list goes on and on.

Chika lang 'yan. Para kunwari profound at pinag-isipan ang bagong title ng blog na 'to pero 'yun na 'yun.

Anu't ano pa man, I guess I got too excited and published the new design and lay-out so tell me what you guys think. :D

I haven't blogged in a long time. The reason for that is I'm out of disk space in my tripod site. I'm not even sure this entry will be posted. If ever, that would be because I deleted some image files or completely erased my archives to make room. Anyway, it won't be lost since it's all stored in Blogger's database.

Right now, I'm almost 100% convinced of going back to good old Blogspot. I can't afford to have this blog hosted somewhere else.

But there's a good side to this. I'd be giving my blog a new name and a new look. Don't expect anything fancy though. I'm not an expert at Photoshop nor HTML coding.

Hanggang sa muli!
