It looks like I won't be getting myself a new bike frame nor a new computer for the merit increase money we'll be getting at the end of this week.

Apparently, I learned last Sunday that my three year old Mavic Crossmax wheelset is damaged. I was supposed to go mountain biking in Maarat with some of the Globe bikeheads when I noticed that my rear wheel is majorly out of true. Thinking that I can probably fix it with my spoke wrench, I put the bike on the roof rack and picked up King on the way to Chowking in San Mateo. When we got there, I unloaded my bike and prepared my tools. It was then when we noticed that there's a crack in the rim near the spoke eyelets.

My primary suspect is the mechanic from the John's bike shop, who tensioned the spokes too much that it cracked the the rim area around it. But being in the Philippines, work warranty is all but a dream so I might as well get myself a new one.

Now back in the market after years of not buying anything for good old Cheez Whiz, I braced myself for the prices of today's bike parts. And the first surprise came soon enough when I learned that the new model of the wheelset that I bought before for ten thousand bucks is now at least forty thousand.

Definitely over my budget, I looked for alternatives. Now Benjie offered me the top of the line Bontragers that are tubeless and disc-ready for P21K, but I'm still far from being convinced. I know that they make wheels for Lance, but Lance doesn't weigh close to two hundred pounds.

Moving on, I think I have a more solid solution, which came about after chatting with King this morning - a wheelset built with Shimano XTR disc brake-ready hubs, DT Spokes and Mavic rims! A strong and lightweight buy for less than P20K! Alright!

So there. I'm back again to biking. Well, at least in the buying aspect. Now I hope that the prices of these babies stay the same despite the skyrocketing fuel prices and Gloriagate scandal.

I would be in front of lines chanting their chants and singing their songs. I would be there on the stage and dance to the remix wearing next to nothing. I would take advantage of this situation. I'm going to strike while the iron is hot. This would be a perfect time to revive my career. I would take advantage of this situation and milk it dry. That is if I am Gwen Garci.

After more than a month, we're pleased to announce that the wedding pictures are ready for viewing. It took sometime for us to post them. Charo's CD-ROM conked up so we had to get my CD burner from my PC.

The ones that are posted here are what we picked. There are 3,000 images in the raw CD's so you can imagine how much pictures we had to go through.

Hope you enjoy them as much as we did! :)

So that explains it
I was greeted this morning by Mr. Clueless. Yesterday, I emailed him a list of logos and picture messages for his promo. Thinking that everything's OK, I went back to what I was doing. This morning when I went back up to the office after our breakfast-merienda, he approached me.

Just to give you an honest to goodness perspective, below is more or less how the exchange went through.

Clueless: Jovan, iyong mga pinadala mo sa akin iyon iyong mga picture logos, 'di ba?

Me: (Corrects him) Iyon iyong mga operator logos.

Clueless: (Points to his cellphone's screen) Iyon iyong mga lumalabas dito, 'di ba?

Hello! You are working in a mobile company selling mobile products and you don't fucking know what a fucking operator logo looks like?!

Touche.

I begin dreaming of buying stuff again.

The thought of a new computer has been playing in my mind. That or probably a second-hand Giant NRS full suspension frameset. Or how about a new cellphone so I can retire my old 6600? Nah! I'll stick to the PC or the frameset.

Everyone in the office is happy today. Well, at least those who were regularized before 2005. The reason for this is the approval of the merit increase that everyone's been hoping for.

A Partnership Lesson
You call to tell that you want to partner with us.
You even mistakenly called us with another company's name.
We ask for a proposal from you on what you want to do.
You don't have one.
You even said that you "don't know what we do."
You then ask for a meeting with us
So we can think of things that we can do together.
That's not right.

I watched Batman Begins last night at the cinema 6 of Glorietta 4 with my wife, Mads, Sharon, Lester and other Globe people, and it was a blast. Although it wasn't as accurate to the comics (he only studied ninjitsu in the movie), it was still great. This was how it should've been done in the first place.

Maskinano
Funny to name this entry from a little shop along Esteban Abada that sells Karate stuff.

So I'm back in good old Loyola Heights. Civilization, finally. Suddenly, all of a sudden, I have lots of food places to choose from. Hehehehehe!

I'm now staying in La Vista. What's cool is we have a gate at the back going to the Ateneo, so that I can gear up and bike whenever I want to. Although I've only done this once in our now month-old marriage, I'm planning to do this more often. Mark my word, I'm going to ride every night and get myself back to shape. A round shape, that is.

This prequel hullabaloo is getting to be such an in thing after the Star Wars saga ended. It was so in that we're only made to attend Day 2 of our Mobile Planning. As I was saying, it was like watching A New Hope, the Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of the Jedi first before The Phantom Menace.

The Tour is fast approaching with only three weeks to go. This is going to be Lance's bid for number seven before he rides to the sunset. Although we're not going to see him ride in the Champs Elysee as we dreamed, you can bet that we're going to follow it on cable and on the internet. I only pray that SkyCable wouldn't kill their TV5 French channel signal.

I'll be watching Batman Begins today with my wife at the Glorietta. Finally, the Batman movie franchise is macho again. That gay director, Joel Schumacher, should burn to the ground for what he did. Being a big Tim Burton fan, I hope the director of this one makes it really dark.

Talking about Batman Begins, I hate the details (or lack thereof) in Mattel's line of Batman toys. It was poorly done and the paints was all over the character. I wished they gave the license instead to Kenner. If there's one thing I wish I could have from their line, it would be the spanking new Batmobile. Check it out baby!

Kapamilya Underground
If there's one Kapamilya Katext celebrity that's got to be sulit to subscribe, this girl is one of 'em! Her name is Jaymee Joaquin and Karen says that she's one of the babes in the Bora show. Frankly, I don't give a damn which shows she's on. What really matters are her quite playful MMS updates daily. The boys in the office look forward to her daily dose. She's such a tease I wouldn't mind getting a third KText update every day!

To subscribe to Jaymee's daily MMS updates, text JAYMEE YES to 2366 now.
