I'll be leaving for Batangas in a few hours. A few days of mountain biking away from civilization will definitely help me forget about the stuff that is happening in the office. See you next week, everyone. Have a great weekend!

I tried to access the internal message board. This is the place where we posted most of our angst and concerns. It is also through this that made the upper management see what is happening with their people. This lead to talks between team leaders and upper management to answer the issues raised. Because of this, we had a General Assembly and no other than the big bosss himself was there.
I logged in hoping to read again what we all posted at that time. I want to see how others reacted to the company restructuring. Are they as scared as I am? Are my concerns their concerns as well? Do they think that we're headed to the right direction?
But they erased our history when took out the boards. The server which hosts the internal boards is gone now. Somehow, when I realized this, it made me feel as if a part of me is taken away, too.

It's October 30 na -- time for sweldo!
Mga Bati Muna. A belated happy birthday to Van, who just turned 23 yesterday. Also to EJ, who turned a year older last Thursday. Happy birthday to Leyds, who turned 24 today. Stay as cute as ever.
Today at 10 a.m. our boss will be talking to us about the restructuring scheme for the whole company. I don't know what the outcome will be. He told us to bring our pen and several sheets of paper. I guess he will let us vote out who we think is the weakest link.
Noticed that I can post pictures now? hehehehe.

Back from Batangas
Chai's back! Yup, she's back. I picked her up from FBR in Marikina. She looks pretty good. The whole thing cost me something like P14,250, which isn't bad considering the damage. After I got her, I went to the house to pick up my stuff and my two bikes, Ate V and Cheez Whiz, and drove straight to Batangas for a refreshing mountain bike ride.
At long last, Atty. de Mesa agreed to swap Cannondale Super V Frames. We swapped my small Super V 900 FR and his large Super V 900 SL. Now our bike frames are appropriate to our size.

Am I being too idealistic? Four years of working and I'm still as idealistic as I was when I graduated. That's not normal, is it? I mean people's idealism tend to die down over time.
In 20 minutes I'll be calling the repair shop to check Chai's status. I hope I can get her tomorrow. I really need a car and take a breather.

Just got word from an officemate today while we were on our way to Hotstix. He said that our boss told them already that it's possible that their sites might be sacked at the end of the year. This made me sad. From what I know, when they started this site, their goal was developing communities for Filipinos, and yet the sites which will be sacked are those from community group.
Where are we headed to?
If you can observe the traffic of the site, the top sites belong to Entertainment. I write this with no offense intended to the Entertainment group. I'm sure they're doing a hell of a job. But if our cry is on bridging Filipinos, then why is it that we're not doing anything when we're actually turning into another showbiz site? Sad to say it but we're just an extension of the main entertainment site. There should be balance, or at least the traffic deviation from one site to the next isn't that humongous.
Is there really a meaning behind the In the Service of Filipinos Worldwide thingie? I know that we have to earn, but up to what extent are we willing to sacrifice it?
Just a thought.

EACH ONE COUNTS
It is day two without the chat and message board service. It's truly a disaster for our community, but I doubt if these people realize it. Give me a good reason why these people should stick to our service when there are more dependable services in other sites. Per day, I am losing drop by drop my loyal chatters and message board people to others. Yes, they will come back to check if we're back. But when they find out that we're not, that's one page view and one user session less.

Paano tataas ang traffic kung pupugak-pugak ang server mo -- now you have it, now you don't?! Anak ng tipaklong! Pwede na lang ba akong maglagay ng bots para tumaas ang traffic ko? With the rate these servers are going, we're lucky to have users at all!
What we have here is a coņo site. You got to have a cable or DSL connection at least to see the site. Chugi ang 56Kbps mong dial-up at higit na 'yang 14.4kbps! We need a better usability person. Hint, hint.

Ang cute ni Tintin ngayon. Absent kasi si Dan kaya ako ang humalili sa kanya sa Kumusta Kabayan na chat. Si Tintin iyong cute girl sa International. Isa siya single mom. Dala pa niya kanina ang kanyang five-month old kid nang makasalubong ko sila from lunch. Papatol ba ako sa isang single mom? Handa na ba akong managot? Haaaaaaaaay. Pihadong isa siya sa mga mami-miss ko pag-alis ko.

It's another Friday. To be honest with you I'd rather stay in my house and bum the whole day, but I can't. It's the last day of work for the week, so what I need is a little push.
I'd like to greet Pusacat for her birthday. May you get married in two years! Hahahahahahaha!
I'd also like to congratulate Sonny Boy for getting that job. We definitely need to celebrate that P50,000-a-month salary. Is that Melo's I smell?
Started the team training yesterday. Ran 5.5 kilometers at 00:39:19. Not bad. Hopefully Gretch will join us so I could just be in the support crew.

Joined the Message Board People for a pre-grand eyeball eyeball this morning at Sbarro's in SM Megamall. It was fun. I finally met some of the people who post at the forums everyday. Let me see if I can still remember them: rains_delight, cyberkada, leyds, audz, september, kesibi, shyra, supermom and two more people.
We watched Osmosis Jones after lunch. It's a ho-hum movie, but as long as you're "bonding" I guess that's cool. Maybe we should do more movie eyeballs next time. Hmmm. Maybe I could make a deal with our movie section. Abangan!

Thursday may be my favorite day, but t is certainly not my luckiest.
On the way to the office, along V. Luna Street in Quezon City, my car was slammed from the rear by a passenger jeepney who lost its brakes. The impact was strong enough to bump the taxi in front of my car.
The taxi came out with just paint scratches from its rear bumper. My car, on the other hand, has a misaligned front bumber and a wrecked rear. It was so damaged that you cannot open the rear compartment.
After all the police report mumbo-jumbo and a trip to the repair shop, the whole thing will cost me a whopping twenty thousand pesos!!! The driver of the jeepney said that he will pay for the damages, but I doubt that. All I can hope for is some money from him to pay for the body repair. Besides, he seems OK enough.
There goes my Christmas shopping.

I really don't know why Thursday is my favorite day of the week. I think it's because it's like Friday but with less caffeine. If it's Thursday, you can start to celebreate and look forward to the weekend without worrying too much of Monday and the following week. Thursday is just right.

Defying prediction, the Ateneans live to fight another day - the third game of the best-of-three series, to be exact. Ateneo took Game 2 and is now tied with the De La Salle University with one win each. Now the playing field is equal and the final game of the season is anyone's ballgame.
Clearly De La Salle, with its experience in being in the championships, has the advantage. But no one can just put aside the title-hungry Ateneo, who just might steal the crown from the Archer's four-peat bid.
