Itaas Mo!
Have you seen the new San Miguel Beer commercial lately? Here's the real message in the ad: Habang padami nang padami ang naiinom mong San Miguel Beer, sa paningin mo'y paganda nang paganda ang mga babae sa paligid mo.

Win or lose, it's the school we choose
I don't know about you guys, but this is getting old. So far, for fourteen years, it's lose and lose. Where's the win part? Blue Eagles, it's time to show your... umm... eggs! Hehehehe!
And La Salle pushes it to game 3. Ho hum. We only watched the first half at the Moro Lorenzo Gym. I guess we got so disappointed that we went to Sta. Lucia to play billiards instead. I should've followed the voice in my head and stayed to bike in Batangas instead. (Hey! That rhymes! Watch out, Carlos Agassi!) In fairness, I won the game against Morny and Rumel, who are avid billiardeers!
Friday went something like a boy's version of Sex In the City. The four of us - Morny, Rumel, Joyce and I - were at Tequila Joes eating and drinking and philosophizing on love. Here are some of the more interesting quotes from the great master of Rumelism...
"Like TV, we scan the people around us until we find the one we like."
"Do people take on relationships because they're infatuated with the person or are they just plain bored?"
As for the girl, we spent Saturday night on the phone talking about a lot of things - from as trivial as my parent's roots to as philosophical as love and relationships. We ended at 4:00 a.m. Haven't been telebabad-ing for along time, so it's funny how i'm not used to the speaker getting warm.
Hmmm. Mukhang may pangako ngang taglay ang 2002 para sa akin.

It was you. That was the text that I sent her after she tortures me to reveal who my crush is. I laid my cards on the table. And i feel naked.

I'm starting to hate my playback operators, but I can't blame them because choosing them is my fault.

Yesterday afternoon, some officer from the PNP called me up on the phone in the office. He was selling me tickets for a charity dinner. It's for the orphans of PNP soldiers, who died in service or something like that was what he said, and it costs P5,000! When I turned him down saying that I couldn't afford it, what he said was this, "Hindi naman po ito compulsary. Baka sakaling sa susunod eh may kailanganin naman po kayo sa amin." Well, I'm sure glad that it wasn't compulsary, fucking assholes.
My first day at the gym was a little bit disappointing and I can't blame them. I told them I was hypertensive and so they checked my my blood pressure and discovered it was 150 over 100. My hunch was right. Half the time I was on the crummy exercise bike. I wish they new how to adjust to the proper seat height.
As for the girl, we've been teasing each other through text, and I won again last night's round. Quotable text: 'Wag mong pasisimulan ang 'di mo kayang tapusin." I'm down to less than a hundred pesos worth of credits. God! Spare me from this mediocrity and make me a Jesuit instead! Hehehehehe!

I don't think would get jealous anymore of Ate V and Cheez Whiz. I ordered a set of foglamps for her and it will be installed this coming weekend. At first P4200 seems too expensive, until I remind myself how much Cheez Whiz' crankset or Ate V's hydraulic disc brakes cost. Actually I feel a bit guilty because I'm getting her the Taiwan knock-offs instead of the originals, but at P16,000 a pair, I'd rather save the money for a date.
Talking about expenses, I'm blowing around three hundred pesos worth of call and text credits a week. That's more than double of my previous allotment! The reason: girls. I thought so.

In The Hallowed Halls of Gymboy
In my quest to lose weight, I have finally succumbed to the lifestyle of the corporate world and am now a full-pledged member of the 9501 gym. I will now join hands with my friends and ex-officemates from Makati and Ortigas who swear that this is the way to go to a healthy (and not to mention more social) lifestyle. I throw caution to the wind and swallow the fact that I have to stay in the program for one whole year to make the P999-a-month-deal work. I don't know about you but something tells me that I'll just be using the exercise bike.
I will now have to start my quest in search for pairs of shorts that fit.

I've always thought that Fantasy Basketball Games are for wimps... until I tried it out. Now I'm so hooked up on it that I really get dissapointed if I missed a UAAP game without choosing my player. If you're a UAAP fan, login to the UAAP Quick Pick for more details!

I was supposed to pick her up on my way back to the office, but she called it off on the last minute because it was raining heavily and she doesn't want to get stranded. So I double-parked my car in front of her office at Shaw Boulevard and dropped off the CD I borrowed from her and the VCD copy I did for her of Got 2 Believe. She gave me the John Mayer's CD plus a can of Coke. It's like a CD exchange thing.
At first I thought she lent me her copy of John Mayer's CD until I discovered that the plastic seal was still intact. So I texted her and thanked her for the CD and the can of Coke. I wasn't really expecting her to give me one. As for the can, I'm still thinking if I'd add it to my memorabilia.

You can't have your cake and eat it too
What's the point of having a bar in the office if, according to them, it is against office regulations to bring in booze?
Here are some quotable quotes from Jun on our discussion on the bar:
"I could be wrong but I don't remember anything on paper that says it is OK to drink in the bar after office hours"
"Pag uminom lang si Carlo, saka lang nagiging official ang inuman."

They didn't allow my TXTjocks to stay in the main work area because, according to them, the latter were security threats. And so I said fine and, even though it broke my heart, agreed that they stay in that cramped little room near the lobby. Now they bring in these encoders and let them work in the main work area till the wee hours of the night.
I am not asking for anything big. The point I'm driving at is could we at least be consistent with our reasoning.

I've accomplished most of my deliverables for the year. We've reached a number one rating with little or no promotion at all. We successfully transferred the operations from Benpres to Mandaluyong, and trained operators to handle our playback requirements. Five people handling a channel is a feat in itself. For this, I'd like to congratulate the team.
On September 1, they said that we will also be at Home. I'm still waiting.
