Elevator Game Number 2
With the sudden influx of people going to the hallowed halls of Fitness First in the fifth floor, the latest craze is now Meron o Wala -- meron o walang taong papasok o lalabas sa fifth floor. Get all your officemates and bet all your lunch money in this new wacky game. Winner take all, of course.

Seriously speaking, this Fitness First people is getting sickeningly annoying. Instead of going straight up to your office, more often than not you have to make a stop over. It's like putting a speed bump at EDSA. It's like the tollgate at the Skyway. It's like having an MMDA officer at every intersection. I think you get the picture.

And having only three working elevators out of the twelve doesn't help the situation at all. I know we're probably cost-cutting (don't we always?) but why purchase twelve when you only want three to work? C'mon! I think there must be a better solution than this.

Tadhana

Me, the gardener
Of the three plants in our area, only Dan is alive and well. We all agree that Jessie's dead and Charo is struggling to survive. We water them everyday all the time. Actually, we water them whenever we're thinking of something or stressed out. They're great outlets, and I fear we might have unloaded too much.

That explains for her death. Still, her remains are there - haunting us of our inability to take care of another life.

We still water her, though not as much as before.

Entertain yourself everytime you go to the office restroom by playing the company's growing game sensation -- Meron o Walang Sabon. Similar to Eat Bulaga's popular Meron o Wala, players will guess which soap dispenser actually has soap. Winners go home with clean hands.

Olive: Eh, di ba umebs ka na?!

Random hirit

This is wedding number two for the barong. No, hindi ako ang ikakasal. Bisita lang po ako. Ayaw kong magsalita ng tapos, pero I don't have any plans to tie the knot till I'm 30. At saka kanino naman ako ikakasal?!

Para kay EJ at Carlo, enjoy the ride!

It didn't seem like two weeks. I have to admit it was fun while it lasted. Now I have to prepare myself to go back to work tomorrow. I have to teach myself to sleep early and wake up early. That means no more drinking sessions nor any gimmicks tonight, and that is fair enough.

I spent the whole day yesterday in the house. After going home at 4:00 in the morning the night before from the Cloud 9 and P. Guevarra drinking sessions with Jenny, Vanessa, Chuck, Maydel and Tina, bumming at home doing virtually nothing but playing with the PC and watching TV is definitely a welcome break.

I'm planning to do my last minute chores today. I'm having Chai washed. I'm also paying my Citibank credit card bills in full. I might drop by to Megamall and get myself a cheap pair of rubber sandals. The Birkenstocks threw in the towel after six years of supporting this 200+ pounds of body weight. Finally I'm getting Christmas gifts for the nice office people.

Surprisingly the drive last night up to Tagaytay was OK. The traffic was light and there were relatively less vehicles on the road. Coming down from C5 to the South Superhighway, I was expecting the usual gridlock. But this time everything's a go. Maybe there is something magical about Thursdays or maybe it was because she was there with me.

The gimmick was a spur of the moment kind of thing. We didn't plan it. We were thinking about Tagaytay the other night, but we never knew that it was going to be last night. We just came from SM Megamall after joining Vanessa and Jenny for some shopping and videoke. We were supposed to have dinner at Dannylicious, but it was just 8:30 in the evening and we didn't have any plans anyway.

Diner's, my favorite bulalo place, was already closed for the night, so we opted to stay at Leslie's instead of Dencio's. I had three rounds of San Mig Light and she had two over steaming bulalo and grilled tuna belly. The tuna wasn't that fresh anymore and the bulalo wasn't exactly excellent, but that all got drowned in our conversation.

Over the cheesy music of Basia and Julia Fordham, I drove her home to Marikina.

There was something there. I'm sure she felt it, too. But I know where we should stand and I know that we both have to hold back ourselves for both our sakes..

Wow! The first entry for the year. Now I feel the pressure. Like a buena mano of sorts, it must be something really good or I'm doomed to mediocrity forever. Not.

The yearender went out pretty well, although I wished there were more people who attended. After Outback, we continued at Vina's place in Xavierville. I haven't been there for years. The house was still the same. Ate Ping was still there. But a lot of things have changed since we broke off many years ago. No, this is not going to be cheesy.

It was beer and kwento. We're all content with that. The discussion went from the bar exams to marriage to their present boyfriends not joining them in their own gimmicks. The party ended at five o' clock and I drove Rumel to his house in Cainta.

Some realizations at the start of the year:

1. We are now on our own for a good part of our trip. This means that we have to start depending on ourselves. This is what I told my brother and sister at the last dinner of 2002. They had an eye opener when my father texted them that he won't be joining the dinner because of a new year's eve party. So for the first time it was only Kristine, Ricky, Gian, Zagu and I.

2. She loves him. And even though he doesn't treat her as much as she deserves, they're still ok. It's going to be really hard for her to let go. Five years is a long time to just flush down the toilet.

3. People are catching up with what we're doing, and so as the late Father Cruz would say, it's time to put on your afterburners.

May pangakong taglay ang 2003 para sa akin. Hindi ko pa alam kung ano ito, pero hindi na ako makapaghintay para alamin.
