The Coaxial Cable is my Friend
Yebah! I can now watch the Tour de France! I hooked up an illegal connection from my Dad's cable connection in his room at the end of the hall, thanks to my trusty old splitter and cables. Now not only can I monitor my channel at home, I can see Lance go for his 5th consecutive Tour championship!

The Hulk in a Honda
The drive going to the office is making me nuts. Aside from waking up an hour early, the ride was almost claustrophobic with everyone rushing to wherever. The stress this is causing is too much that I was almost at the verge of a road rage this morning. All I need are those gamma rays and I'm 100% sure I'll turn into the green monster.
It got me into thinking of getting my own pad somewhere where the traffic isn't too heavy but I don't think it would be soon, with my monthly MESALA payment lasting till 2004.
Maybe when my one-year 9501 gym contract expires on September, I should get into yoga, buy myself boxes of incense, or study meditation -- anything to help me cope with this.

For those messenger chataholics, you just have to download the new MSN Messenger 6.0 now! It's still in the beta/preview stage but I find it really cool!
The stock emoticons are still baduy compared to Yahoo's, but what's good here is you can customize your own and it's as easy as uploading a photo on your online photo album!
You can also invite your buddies for an online game, such as tic-tac-toe or bejeweled. So if you're bored and have nothing to do, playing is just a mouse click away.
Another cool feature is the personalized avatar. Now your photo or image can be displayed in your buddy's pc while you chat.
Other features include webcams, personalized backgrounds, and better contact group management.

Valley Blues
What do you call a person from Marikina?
a. Marikinians
b. Marikineans
c. Marikiniacs
d. Marikinites
e. Marikinates
f. Marikinettes
I think I pulled my right leg muscle from lifting and dragging a big bucket of water from my brother's bathroom to mine upstairs. I was hoping I'd be using the hot shower today but apparently the water pressure wasn't enough to reach the second floor. We really have to tell the owner to reinstall the water tank.
I hate the traffic. This morning the drive to La Vista took more than 30 minutes. The travel time would be cut by half if I rode the bike instead.
I am also worried about number coding. With no taxis in the area, I have no idea how I can go to the office on Wednesday without being on the road at 6 AM. Well, when all else fails, I'm open to walking all the way to Aurora.
As much as possible I don't want to give additional pressure to anyone in the house. I just have to bring system to this sucky situation.

Down from the Hill
I feel sad leaving Loyola. This area has always been my home ever since I was a freshman in high school. I don't feel like moving on but I have no choice. They already moved all my things to the new house.
Last night was my last night in the old Esteban Abada house. I slept with the mattress on the floor because they took my bed. Later I would be coming home to the new one in the valley.
I said my goodbyes to the house and to those we are leaving behind but I don't want to go.

Sarado na daw ang Aresi dito sa may Tomas Morato. Sayang!

Your Father's tuition down the drain
"we have a meeting tom? ah.. you mean for X. pero the one for Y is on wed pa diba? as for the GA... we have one this wed? what time? arent those usually on thurs? sorry ha, im so kulit. its finals week for us (this week and last).
muchas gracias!"
Hmmm. I think getting an MBA isn't the answer and wasting money on a PDA isn't the solution at all. This is beyond hopeless. No, Tiny. Finals week isn't an excuse. It's your responsibility to know your schedule. I know a lot of people who work more than you with only half of what you're getting. Shape up or ship out!

We don't have work on Friday, 13 June 2003, instead of Thursday, 12 June 2003. It would give our local tourism a much-needed boost with a three-day weekend, Gloria declares. I'm not going anywhere far, but I think I'm going to take it to think things over.
I can't believe how helpless I am with the situation. The push I was hoping that would come from the community we built didn't materialize, and so we're left here at the guillotine waiting for the verdict. This is probably how Oskar Schindler felt way back.
God help us all.

My Dream Phone
I love this phone.
The good people from Globe loaned us a Sony-Ericsson P800 for two weeks for testing. Being the usisero that I am, I borrowed it, tried it out and fell in love with it in an instant. Too bad it costs around P35,000!
(Mark, if you have any plans of losing your P800 just let me know, ok?)
Sigh.

The Kahon goes mainstream
The first time I saw the wooden box in action was in a Cynthia Alexander gig in the 70's Bistro along Anonas in Quezon City. It wasn't grand. To be honest I thought it was some sort of a monitor for the performers with the speakers positioned at the back. I never thought that was the set-up that would handle the percussions!
Now branded as K-Hon, the wooden box is selling like hotcakes at music stores for around P3,500. Even the international music scene is taking notice! Hmmm. Not a bad alternative to a drum set costing almost ten times as much. With the way things are going I see the Yamaha Music School offering summer kahon lessons.
