The boys are back in business! We're going in another roadtrip! This time it's off to Pangasinan for Harlijk's wedding tomorrow and we're leaving today after Rumel picks up his visa at the Japanese embassy. And for that I'm loading the Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserables, Queen and Rent CD's in my bag. Hehehehe!
The tidal waves that hit Maldives washed away our plans of spending our honeymoon there. Would they be able to recover by May next year is, at this point, still one big question mark.
To our luck, Charo won in Christmas raffle a trip for one person to Disneyland in Los Angeles. So that's 50% off already! Not bad for a honeymoon back-up plan. The bad news is I don't have a US visa yet so I've to apply for one. I'm praying that the same luck rubs on me.
So there. I'll be finishing this entry now to prepare for the trip. I won't be blogging till after the 29th, but if you want updates on the roadtrip with the boys, text JOVAN ON to 2366.

Wouldn't you know, my wish came true.
Driving to Charo's house for the 10:00 mass in Dela Strada, I decided to drop by the Loyola House of Studies just to check if there's a slightest possibility of a Christmas Mass.
I asked the guard who was manning the reception area if there would be a mass there. "Wala po," he said. " Pero meron pong misa sa High School."
Bingo!
I drove quickly to the High School and there it was. It was about 9:20 in the evening and there were people coming in already. I asked the guard stationed there what time the mass was. "Ten ho," he replied.
So I called up Charo and told her the good news. :)

Maski Na Ano
It'll be Christmas soon. Take it easy when your feast on your Christmas Ham, Quezo de Bola and Castañas. And don't forget to drink lots of water. A friendly reminder from someone with hypertension and kidney stones.
Since we're talking about Christmas, wouldn't it be great to have my kidney stone placed in a pendant and sell it as one of those Nativity Stones on TV complete with a certificate of authenticity from the Mayor of Bethlehem? I'd definitely make a fortune!
Thanks to everyone who gave me gifts this season. I'm sorry I cannot wait till the 25th. As the Globe people would probably say, I have low EQ. This season, my top three faves are the XBOX from Charo, the cue stick from Morny, and the handcuffs from Joseph.
This afternoon, I went to the barber shop for a haircut so I'll be pogi when I meet Charo's relatives in Biñan tomorrow for lunch. I ended up not only getting a haircut but a hot oil treatment as well. What can I say?
I really miss hearing Mass in the Ateneo High School on the 24th. It was solemn. When they built the Church of the Gesu on the Hill of the Sacred Heart, I thought they would continue the Midnight Mass tradition. They didn't.
My brother, together with his ASSOC friends, will be driving around the Metro tonight to distribute gifts of canned goods and clothing to the people sleeping in the streets. It's something that he's been doing for several years already. Ain't that cool?
Merry Christmas, everyone. :)

Today is the last official working day of 2004 and almost everyone in the office is too lazy to work. Usually we're all on forced leave after the company Christmas party, but it's different this year. If it wasn't for the special declaration, we would have to go to work tomorrow, too.
Talking about work, I discovered that one of our playback operators is pulling a trick on us. I did a surprise visit last Tuesday to good old Mandaluyong to pick up the busted machine for some maintenance work. Lo and behold, the sneaky one is logged in but isn't there! Obviously this is going to be his last Christmas with this company.
There's a get-together with the 4C people tonight at eight in 90 Proof along Emerald Avenue in Ortigas. Still having second thoughts on dropping by, though. Right now it's about 70-30 leaning more on the "not going". I'm thinking more in the lines of calling the boys to try out the new cue stick Morny gave me for Christmas.
I turned 28 last Saturday. I'm old. Pretty soon, I'm going to say goodbye to the calendar and hello to the lotto. But that's OK. At least it's not the bingo.

She's been a good little girl this year, so for Christmas I gave my honey what she's been raving about all year - an iPod.
I was teasing her last Friday, telling her that I only got her a bag from T, one of her favorite bag places. Seems pretty reasonable and a good cover, don't you think? But somehow she didn't believe me. I guess the giveaway was when I asked her if she's excited to get her gift.
So I gave her the gift when I picked her up from the condo last Saturday. And borrowing from Chegay's blog, the look on her face was "priceless".
We rushed to my place, excited to upload our MP3's into the gadget. The big disappointment came when we found out that our PC's didn't have firewire nor USB 2.0. Bummer.
So our uploading was moved to last night after I bought a firewire card and installed in her PC.
So for the first time tonight, I'll be seeing the gadget in action. Hehehehehe!

The fact that I'm still blogging goes to show that our Christmas party stint last night didn't take us to the principal's office. Hehehehehe!
The party was good. At first we were holding back with the hirits, but then we realized it wouldn't be as fun. So we let everything flow like bottomless iced tea.
Here's a preview of one of the gags that we did:
Now that the company is adopting the brand management structure, everyone was shuffled and was made to do their brand's market positioning statement.
Well, for the Christmas party, we made our own market positioning statement. And it goes something like this:
To: All regular employees
Who need: bonus
Our: Christmas party
Is: a party
That: is in replacement of your bonus!
Hehehehehe!
One of the new people came out of a market positioning of their own! Check it out:
To: All new employees
Who: don't have any leaves for the holidays
Our: Christmas party
Is: a party where you can win cellphones
That: you can sell so you'll have money.

Today is the company's Christmas party, and as usual Moby and I are the ones tasked with hosting the event. We've been doing this for about three years already so it should be a breeze. It should be, right?
The problem is we don't feel the party at all this year. And it's not only Moby and I who feels this but most of the people we've talked to. We can only do so much.
I woke up a little after seven in the morning today thinking of how we can spice it up, but we're no Viva Hot Babes.
Bahala na si...er... Santa Claus mamaya! Si Hawaiian Santa Claus at that!

I visited the doctor yesterday and it's true that I have kidney stones. The good news is it's still small that an operation is still far from happening. According to him, this can probably be treated through medicine or laser. He also wants me to take an IVP, which I'm scheduled today.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's a procedure where they put dye in the patient and have him x-rayed so that the urologist will get a clearer picture of the kidney area and see if there are any more stones in there.
What really sucks (so far) is the procedure before the IVP. First, they made me eat plain lugaw at 7:00 PM. An hour after, they made me take 60cc of castor oil. Then there's no taking down of anything after midnight until the IVP is over.
Now can I tell you that this castor oil theraphy is really good if you're planning on a cleansing diet. It's one helluva laxative! Everything started to flow after about three hours. That's right - flow! As in like the waterfalls! It was so effective, it puts eating gindara to shame. And there's like a film of oil similar to your usual order of sisig. Yummy!
I'll be leaving for St. Luke's by 11:30 AM today. My procedure is scheduled at 1:00 PM.
Wish me luck!

I went back to work yesterday but was rushed to the Capitol Medical Center a little after lunch because all of a sudden my left lower back began to hurt.
I thought it was just gas, but the pain changed from something minor to really unbearable in a short span of time. The dose of Ponstan 500 administered to me in the company infirmary didn't make things any better. It was so much that I didn't know how to position myself on the emergency room bed. I asked the doctor to give me something for the pain, and she gave a shot of Buscopan.
They got samples of my blood and urine when I woke up. They suspect it has something to do with the kidneys. After a few hours of waiting for the results, they discovered that the RBC count on my urine was high so they cleared it with the surgery team just to check. Their finding - I have kidney stones.
I'll be going back to Capitol today for ultrasound to find out where the stone is. After that, we'll decide what to do.

I realized I'm not invincible. Yes, today XBOY is a sick boy.
I think I'm coming down with something as my body aches, especially my back. I felt it last night when I got home. At first, I thought it was just a burp that needs to go out so I took Alka Seltzer. But that's not it. It didn't go away. Now I'm stuck here at home hoping that this will be over soon so I can go back to what I was supposed to do today.
I called my friendly neighborhood masahista and requested for his service.

XBOY
This little piggy got a big present from his wonderful fiance, and it's nothing like a partridge on a pear tree. On the third day of December, my true love gave to me an XBOX with cool game cd's. O ha!
Move over, Kotler! Now I sleep at around two in the morning playing the 15 game titles that I have.
It's a tad expensive so it's going to be her gift for Christmas, my birthday, our monthsary and everything else til Valentine's day! Hehehehe!
Thanks Hon!

I'm so happy I finished uploading all 27 games from one of our suppliers today. That's roughly 50% of the total backlogs! Quite a feat, indeed!
Happy December, everyone. Today's the first day of the Christmas month and yet everyone in the office is buried with work to notice. Save for the sossy Christmas tree that we have, the email from the chief about donating our rice allowance to those that got hit by the typhoon, and the email from HR about donating stuff to Bantay Bata, it's the same old thing in this side of the world.
