Thank you to all those who visited, texted and prayed for my recovery.
I'm doing better now. I just got home today and I'll be resting for a couple of days before I go back to work.
So far it still feels like my spirit hasn't fully taken control of my body yet. Still feels like I'm up in the air. The drugs that they gave must probably haven't worn off yet. Go Demerol! Yeah!

The Quickening As the Highlander says it, "there can only be one." And now, after years and years of waiting for it to happen, there is one chatroom. It is finished.
I toast to all the past TXTjocks who took part of this journey. It was a long and hard one.
I toast also to the pioneers who are still here - Joko, Gerry, Pia and Jeck. Now that we have it, let's make it really fun.
And so begins a new chapter.

Well, wouldn't you know it, after blogging about them reformatting my pc from Windows 2000 to XP, they made me swallow what I wrote.
Yes, I am one of the lucky few who got issued a brand new HP PC with a Pentium 4 2.80 GHz processor, 512 MB's of memory, eight USB ports, and 80 GB's of hard drive. Yeahbah! The downside? I don't have CD-ROM and I can't install software without the blessing of the almighty technical administrators.
To those people who didn't get one, please do not kill me. I didn't ask for it. Believe me when I say I'm praying that you get a new PC unit, too! Just for luck, try blogging about how your PC sucks. Who knows, you might chance upon them spying on you doing some "research".
Also part of the good news, the office now has WiFi. The joy was so overwhelming that four people celebrated! Hehehehe!

After the visa news, people have been asking me how many months or years did they grant me. I told them I had no idea. The consul didn't tell me anything about that. After asking me "game ka nang magka-visa", he told me to go to the pavillion and wait for my name to be called to make arrangements for the delivery.
Well, I just got a call from my mom-in-law (She's the one who received my passport from the courier) and she said I got a multiple entry visa good for five years. O ha!

Yesterday's leave didn't go to waste after all. After three and a half hours of waiting, I walked out of the embassy with a smile on my face relieved that the whole thing is finally over.
Yes, I finally have a US tourist visa. And even though they have it in France, Japan and Hong Kong, I can now say that I am finally going to Disneyland.
I was interviewed by a nice man, who is, I guess, in his mid thirties, and it was short. Among all the documents that I prepared, he only asked for Charo's US Visa, my company ID, my payslip and my employment certificate. That's it. He just asked me my reason for going to the United States, where I work, what's my position, what do I do, and how much I'm getting per month. Sweet.
So I guess I didn't get denied after all, not to mention the hundred dollar application fee not going down the drain.
